A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A DIRECTOR OF BUILDING OPERATIONS/ DIRECTOR OF FACILITIES

As a Director of Maintenance/Facilities for Moravian Hall Square, you will be responsible for a team of thirty, who together maintain the campus both the interior and exterior grounds including snow removal. You will also be responsible for complying with all State, Federal and other applicable regulations to ensure a safe operation. This position does require you to be on-call as scheduled and to work on weekends and holidays on occasion.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A DIRECTOR OF MAINTENANCE/FACILITIES

  • High school diploma required; some higher education/certification preferred.
  • Must have, as a minimum, five (5) years' experience in a supervisory capacity, in a maintenance/plant related position.
  • Working knowledge of: (1) HVAC, (2) plumbing, (3) electric and (4) appliances for troubleshooting, services and repair.  
  • Working knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, etc., as well as various mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
  • The ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must possess self-direction in management of time, work and related activities.
